Playstation 4: not powered by Nvidia!

Nvidia didn't want to do business at the price Sony is willing to pay. Some time earlier Sony announced that their next-generation console will be powered by the rival chip-maker AMD which will probably be behind the hardware of the new Xbox.

It seems that Nvidia is trying to focus on their primary business and cut all the projects which can slow them down.

"In the end, you only have so many engineers and so much capability, and if you're going to go off and do chips for Sony or Microsoft, then that's probably a chip that you're not doing for some other portion of your business" - says Tony Tamasi, Senior VP of content and technology at Nvidia.

Is it really a lucky chance to AMD taking to account their operating loss of  $131 million declared in its quarterly earnings report?
